The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a state requirement ensuring all incoming students are assessed in math, reading, and writing. If you’re not exempt, you must take the TSI Assessment (TSIA) and submit your scores to UT Austin before attending Orientation. The TSI Assessment is designed to help the university determine if you are ready for college-level course work in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics.
- To check your TSI status, log in to your myUT account and verify whether a TSI hold is on your record.
- If you’ve been admitted and have a TSI hold on your account, please refer to the Navigating TSI Requirements page for guidance on next steps.
