Two separate tests for credit in Hindi are offered on campus during the middle of the fall and spring semesters.
Hindi 604 Exam
You may attempt to earn credit by examination in Hindi 604 by taking the UT Austin Test for Credit in Hindi 604.
The written test prepared by UT Austin faculty is three hours, and consists of
- reading and listening comprehension short answer questions
- a short essay
- spoken response in Hindi
The short essay consists of 50% of the final result of the HIN 604 exam.
Hindi 612 Exam
You may attempt to earn credit by examination in Hindi 612 by taking the UT Austin Test for Credit in Hindi 612.
The written test prepared by UT Austin faculty is three hours and consists of
- reading and listening comprehension short answer questions
- a short essay
- spoken response in Hindi
The short essay consists of 50% of the final result of the HIN 612 exam.
Where and When to Take the Test
The UT Exams in HIN 604 and HIN 612 are given only on the UT Austin campus:
- mid-semester fall
- mid-semester spring
Visit the Test Registration System to view and register for upcoming test dates.
Registration Fee:
The total of the fees for each test is $90. When you register for a test, you will immediately be billed for the non-refundable test registration fee of $25. After you take the test, you will be billed for the test fee of $65. Payments are due within 14 days of the billing date. All fees are subject to change.
Test Results and Retakes:
Results are available within 10 days after the test date.
Both the UT Austin Test for Credit in Hindi 604 and 612 can be taken only once.
