UT Public Testing Center Policies and Procedures

The following policies and procedures apply only to exams taken at the UT Public Testing Center, which includes Kryterion exams, State exams, and exams from other schools and programs.  

Identification Requirements

In order to take an exam, you must present one of the following forms of photo ID:

  • State issued driver’s license
  • State issued identification card
  • Military ID
  • Passport
  • School ID (must contain photo)

If you do not have an acceptable form of ID, please contact our office before coming to test.

Exam Fees

The following fees are applicable for all exams and can be paid by cash or credit card. Checks are not accepted. Payment is made the day of testing at the Testing Center, unless an appointment is required for accommodations or foreign language exams.

  • Exams from other agencies and schools: $50
  • International Exams from other agencies and schools: $100

Supplies

Only supplies that are listed on the exam will be allowed in the testing room. Lockers are available free of charge for personal items such as cell phones, bags, backpacks, etc. Please leave all personal items in a locker or in your car. We provide scratch paper and writing utensils upon request.

Exam Availability

Exams are available during our regular hours, and exams are also available by appointment only one Saturday a month. 

If the exam requires the use of a listening or recording device for foreign language exams, you must call the UT Public Testing Center for an appointment.

To verify that an exam from another institution has arrived at the UT Public Testing Center, please call our office at 512-471-0222.

Exams will be held at the UT Public Testing Center for 30 days from the date they are received unless the issuing school/organization requests an earlier expiration date. After the expiration date, we will return untaken exams to the issuing school or organization.
